CULTURE & LEISURE • Friday Routine

Neighborhood you live in: Upper East Side
It’s Friday afternoon, how are you rolling into the weekend?
Fridays are a special rhythm in my week, a time to step back, clean, and prepare my studio for weekend visits. The weekdays are for deep, uninterrupted work, where ideas take shape and pieces come to life. Then, on the weekends, I open my doors and share that journey.
Whether it’s collectors, curators, or fellow artists, I love the conversations that unfold in my space. Hearing different perspectives, exchanging ideas, and seeing my work through fresh eyes is a gift. Every visit is a reminder that art doesn’t exist in isolation — it’s a dialogue, a connection. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who takes an interest in what I create, and for the opportunity to share something that, for much of the process, lives quietly in my own world.
Where are you drinking or dining this weekend?
Restaurants have become a second home to me. Between late nights in the studio and my love for the energy of a familiar spot, I hardly eat at home anymore. There’s something special about walking into a place where you’re treated like family — it’s one of the best feelings, especially in New York. One of my favorite Italian spots is Uva Next Door on the Upper East Side. If you go, ask for my off-menu signature, the StarCity salad. Trust me, it’ll blow your mind. I also love Frevo, a gem in Greenwich Village. I recently exhibited there as part of When We Bloom, curated by Destinee Ross-Sutton.
How about a little leisure or culture?
I always make time to visit Salon 94. Housed in a beautifully restored Upper East Side townhouse designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, the gallery spans three floors, each offering a unique and immersive experience. The blend of classical architecture with contemporary art creates a magical atmosphere that's both inspiring and invigorating.
Any weekend getaways?
My favorite weekend escape is heading Upstate, somewhere quiet, a few hours away from the city. I like to visit the Castle Hotel & Spa in Tarrytown. This historic estate, with its majestic stone architecture and tranquil gardens, feels like stepping back in time. While in the area, I always dine at Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
What was your last great vacation?
I rang in the New Year in Costa Rica. It holds a special place in my heart, especially Playa Flamingo, where I stay with a close friend whose home overlooks the beach from atop a mountain. The panoramic views of the ocean, coupled with the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, create a daily spectacle that's both humbling and rejuvenating. Each morning, I strolled down to Hibiscus, a charming local restaurant known for its fresh açaí bowls and healthy offerings.
What’s a recent big-ticket purchase you love?
My most recent big-ticket purchase was a custom-made 18K gold pendant, inspired by one of my art pieces that went to auction and sold for a significant amount. That moment felt so special, I wanted to memorialize it in gold — something timeless. I created the piece in collaboration with SLR Jewels, the jewelry company I co-founded with my best friends, Stevie and Telli. Since then, we’ve been crafting and selling unique, beautifully designed pieces for everyone to collect and wear.
