Walled fortresses
REAL ESTATE • Townhouse Report
This week brought news of a new priciest-ever townhouse sale in Greenwich Village: $72.5 million for a double-wide at 138-140 West 11th St (between 6th and 7th Aves.). The buyers in this off-market deal, according to the WSJ, are “a retired couple from out of state who plan to use the home as a pied-à-terre.” Impressive.
